1. Despite your weakness God is with you and gives strength. verses 11-16
So what was Gideon's particular weakness he was a Bail worshiper in a family of Bail worshipers.
And who takes the first step toward Gideon and Israel to call them out of this sin of breaking the first commandment.
Its God who takes the first step towards Gideon.
b. God is approaching Gideon by coming to him and sitting under this massive tree. That is what the word Terebinth means. A large tree.
Gideon is going about his work.
Gideon is beating out wheat in a winepress? WHY IS THIS?
We are told in vs. 6 of this chapter because the Amalekites and the Midianites would come up against the people of Israel and devour the produce of the land.
This is why Gideon is beating out grain in a winepress.
Its because he is trying to eat and he is trying to live amongst these pagans who are raiding his crops and livestock. Vs. 13
Gideon new of God and the wonderful deeds he did for his fathers in Egypt Verse 13
But Gideon is spiritually blind.
And so God has to WAKE HIM UP!
God says “ Wake up O mighty man of Valor”
So there is hope because Christ comes to us.
And it does not depend on something we must do.
This angel of the Lord comes to Gideon
This angel of the Lord is Christ
We know this because its the Hebrew word Lord in which we translate Jehovah in Verse 12.
So Christ is coming to Gideon he is not waiting on this Baal worshiper out of the tribe of Manassah to take steps towards him
9. And isn't this how Christ comes to us in our sin.
9. And isn't this how Christ comes to us in our sin.
Isn't this how Christ comes to us in our weakness.
We may be going about our lives thinking things are going ok.

And then we are sitting in church and the Lord speaks to us through a sermon
Or brother or sister reminds us of something in the Word of God applies to our very situation.
And through the Preacher or this brother or sister God says
